Taking on the "Clean Girl Aesthetic"

Over the course of 2024 I have noticed the ongoing "That Girl" and "clean girl" trend, but what exactly is that lifestyle? Plus, the way social media has portrayed the aesthetic, it almost seems impossible to reach. Waking up at 5am every day and immediately going to your 6am Pilates class, followed by a 3-mile walk, then a nutritional breakfast, along with an everything showers and a facemask. Like who has time to accomplish all of this before 8am!? I have always viewed the trend as a bit fabricated and only shown for the TikTok's, or maybe you just have to have a very disciplined routine. Which for some is very achievable, such as women who dominate the digital marketing field, influencers, stable 9-5 jobs even. But what about our girls who are in school with a part time job? Our bartenders, waitresses, college students, overnight nurses, moms, and all of those who cannot keep to one routine? For us, that routine is close to impossible and social media has influenced us to think that not being able to accomplish this clean girl routine every day makes us lazy. News flash it does not!! I have always had a love for fitness, which is why I started my clothing brand, but not every day do I push myself to my limits to achieve the picture-perfect lifestyle. Sometimes I find myself scrolling mindlessly wondering how these girls do it, and I realized this is not an everyday thing. A two-hour gym sesh along with a collagen facemask while making your second coffee of the day with a side of an acai bowl does NOT happen every single day. For the girls who do manage to carry out this routine every day, props to you and I can say we all admire your discipline! But for my girls who can't this is my take on it.

-You do not need to strain yourself and deprive of sleep, wake up 15 minutes earlier every day until you reach your desired wake up time!

-Take your mornings slow and be grateful for the day ahead, read a book, journal, meditate. Whatever makes you feel your best!

-Go to the gym, Pilates, or even a walk with your dog to start some movement for your day, and if you don't like to work out in the morning/ you work early in the AM, schedule a class or set a time for you to go to the gym after your obligations during the day! You absolutely do not need to be working out before 7am if you are going to strain yourself!

-If you don't feel motivated keep quotes around your house/ room to influence you to be the best version of yourself, keep a vision board as the wallpaper to your phone, buy cute gym wear you want to work out and show off in! (my personal favorite motivation technique) 

-Move your body EVERYDAY! It doesn't matter what time you do it, whether your lifting weights, doing yoga at home, a simple walk, or a Solid Core class. Just move your body. 

-Lastly, reward yourself and be grateful for the body you were given. You only have one and you should want to be the best version of yourself every day. Grab a coffee on the way home, take some time to see your friends, read a book/ watch a movie! Do what makes you happy.
